WHERE CAN IT BE USED?
The racks are used in dispatch areas, intermediate, and storage warehouses for perishable goods.
Pallet flow racking consists of high-density storage structures formed by slightly sloped channels with rollers that enable pallets to slide into place. Palletised loads are inserted in the highest part of the channel and move by gravity to the opposite end, where they are ready to be removed.
The rack’s gently sloping roller channels ensure the conveyance of goods, with their speed controlled by built-in brake rollers. Pallets placed at the highest point of the roller track are transported to the other side of the channel by gravity at a safe and controlled speed. This system is particularly favored in warehouses where expiry dates are important.
The essence of the gravity system lies in the rollers. The Mecalux pallet flow racking ensures perfect product rotation since the oldest product is always the first to be taken out, thanks to the FIFO system (First In, First Out). The separate picking and restocking aisles prevent product mixing. Only one type of product can be stored per flow lane, making it easy to monitor the quantity of goods. Once the first product is removed, the one behind it immediately slides into its place.
Since 2002, we have built Mecalux warehouse systems on hundreds of thousands of square meters across the country. Our Spanish partner’s steel structures, automated warehouses, and specialized storage systems are used with satisfaction in 70 countries worldwide.

Due to its design it is used in food, automotive, pharmaceutical and chemical industries. The pallet flow racking is usually installed next to conventional pallet racking and is reserved for products with a fast turnover or a shorter expiry date.
The racks are commonly used in shipping areas, for storing perishable products, in temporary and in interim warehouses.
